It prompted me took action, because I am more of a do it type of person then I am a let's talk about it person. I went to the local grocery store and got some stuff to make a large south west salad and a 6 pound chicken with lots of roasted veggies that my family and I can have for dinner tonight and the leftovers will serve as snacks, meal or even a side dish if needed for the rest of the week
Their was a time when I was a real health nut but that healthy way of living turned into an obsession and ended up being an unhealthy was to live. The truth is that I was unhappy.... and instead of facing those unhappy feelings...I focused on food and made it the bad guy. Food is not the enemy, food is not bad and anything and everything is okay in moderation (as long as your not allergic or something). We need food to live and in so many ways food is a blessing, the trick is not to be gluttonous with it. Keeping some easy meal choices at home is a real good way the keep me healthy diet in check and not have to think about food all day.
I am focusing this week on what I can accomplish is the gym, pool and track. I promised myself would not step on a scale to check my weight until next Sunday. On my weigh in day I will also be braking out the tape measure to see what parts of my body are growing and what parts are shrinking.
This week I would like to add 5 pounds to my deadlift and weighted squat. I also want to get in the pool this week at least once to swim 6 laps and hit the track to log 6 miles. I want to volunteer to help in an animal exploration summer camp that my little ones will be attending. Finally, I want to do something nice for a stranger. I think I'll probably pay someones meal or coffee or something with out them knowing it. Hopefully they will pay it forward.
How much time do we spend every day thinking about how wee look? I am to fat, to skinny, my hips are huge, my tummy needs it's own aria code, why am I shaped like a boy or for the love of God what is going on with my chest?
All that time would be better spent focusing on the wonderful things our bodies can do and have done. Spend some time being grateful for all the things that you like about your body. After all it's yours, it's the only one you have and honestly
we are all Kick Ass in our own way!
